An almost spring-like scene can be observed in Naberazhny Lane, Myadzel. Katsiaryna Klimovich photographed this phenomenon, unusual for our latitudes, in her own yard.
narachanka.by asked experienced biologist Tereza Lazdouskaya about the nature of this unusual phenomenon.
"The reason for blooming is a sharp change in weather," says Tereza Valerianauna. "Do you remember how hot it was at the end of August? And then it suddenly got cold and the city was hit by downpours? The thing is, at very high air temperatures and without rain, the tree seems to freeze, many vital processes in it stop. And when the temperature becomes moderate and there is enough moisture, vegetation resumes. That's when orchards can bloom again. Young shoots react especially sensitively to weather changes."
The autumn blooming of fruit trees is not such a rare phenomenon. However, in Belarus, it is more often found in the Brest region than in the north of the Minsk region.
