The procedure for registering electronic passports for vehicles and other equipment has been simplified in Belarus. The corresponding resolution was signed by Prime Minister Alexander Turchin on September 23.
Now, an electronic passport can be issued based on an application from a natural or legal person, or an individual entrepreneur, who did not import the vehicle from abroad themselves. This refers, in particular, to equipment purchased already within the territory of Belarus.
The government expects that this will allow the registration of vehicles and other equipment that were purchased during a period when an electronic passport was not yet required for state registration.
For the exchange of vehicle passports between different countries, the possibility of entering data from a vehicle safety certificate into the electronic passport is provided. Such data can be entered by RUE "BelCustomsService".
Time restrictions on obtaining an extract from an electronic passport have also been lifted.
The resolution also clarifies the procedure for issuing electronic passports for equipment imported by natural and legal persons, as well as individual entrepreneurs, before its state registration or transfer to other persons.
In addition, the document regulates specific issues concerning the registration of electronic passports for vehicles and their chassis manufactured or imported into Belarus, as well as for self-propelled machines and other types of equipment.
The government noted that the adoption of the resolution should regulate the procedure for issuing electronic vehicle passports.
