At "Belwest", boots were cut to demonstrate the superiority of Belarusian footwear
At the Vitebsk factory "Belwest", they decided to visually demonstrate how their footwear differs from cheaper Asian counterparts. To prove the superior quality of Belarusian products, the company's employees even cut several pairs of shoes, writes Telegraf.news.

Belwest emphasizes that two main factors influence the cost and quality of footwear: materials and production technologies. Asian footwear is often cheaper, but, according to Belarusian specialists, this is achieved by saving on raw materials and technologies.
A representative of the technological department demonstrated two outwardly similar boots and explained that "cheap Asian models" are often not made from full-fledged leather, but from recycled fibers — essentially, from waste. Such material is covered with a polyurethane film that does not allow air to pass through. As a result, the foot "does not breathe" in such footwear, and the film itself is easily damaged.
Belarusian footwear, however, is reportedly made from natural leather, which allows moisture and air to pass through, making it more comfortable for the feet.
Differences also affect the sole attachment technology. According to technologists, at "Belwest", the leather blank undergoes special processing, which makes bonding with the sole more reliable. In many Asian models, this stage is skipped: the sole is held only at the edge, so it can detach more quickly.
To show the difference, the factory cut open the footwear and demonstrated to customers what the internal structure of different models looks like.
