"The whole prison in autumn 2023 heard how Dziadok was being worked on"
Pavel Seviarynets, on his Telegram channel, wrote that he had read Mikalai Dziadok's new book "Stories from Pockets" and shared his impressions of it.
"Pockets in Hrodna's closed prison were the name given to the nooks with cramped, 2x1.4 meter, coffin-like cells.
Mikalai Dziadok spent seven months there under the wildest pressure: "specially trained" snitches in neighboring cells roared day and night, banging on walls and pipes with bowls and cups to drive Mikalai to madness or suicide.
The book is not just a prison narrative in the style of "I was there too," but a documentary, with names and even photos, testimony of the appalling tortures practiced in Hrodna.

Mikalai held up exemplary, I testify myself, because I crossed paths with him and sat next to him many times in the Hrodna penal isolation cell (ShIZA). But what it cost him – one can only find out by reading "Stories from Pockets."
I especially recommend reading the book to those who are campaigning to harass Mikalai here, in the free world. Why read it? To understand that God prepared and tempered Mikalai in such a way that no "hate" or "canceling" can touch him.
Like any factual book, "Stories" is written in simple and clear language, with precise fixation of events, thoughts, and dialogues.
And someday at our Nuremberg Tribunal, the Belarusian prosecutor will rise from his table, look challengingly at the defendants' bench, and, holding "Stories from Pockets" in his hand, will declare in pure Belarusian: "Exhibit number such-and-such. Testimony of Mikalai Dziadok," wrote Pavel Seviarynets.
