Book with memoirs of ex-NKVD officer, arrested in 1937, recognized as "extremist"
The book in question is "Diaries of an NKVD officer: A documentary exposé of Stalinism". The corresponding decision was made by the Partizansky District Court of Minsk on March 6, writes "Viasna".

The book is based on the manuscripts of former NKVD officer Iosif Yatchenya. In them, he describes his life, writes about how he became a Chekist, and then turned out to be an "enemy of the people", detailing the methods of NKVD officers, and the tortures used in "Amerikanka" (a famous prison in Minsk).
The book presents materials from Iosif Yatchenya's own criminal case from the Central Archive of the KGB of Belarus.
