Pop icon Britney Spears has begun a course of treatment at a specialized clinic. A representative for the 44-year-old singer confirmed that she made this decision independently last Sunday.

On March 4, Spears was arrested for driving under the influence of prohibited substances. After a night in jail, she was released, but the star is scheduled to appear in court on May 4.
Representatives for the artist called the incident unacceptable and expressed hope that rehabilitation would be the first step towards long-overdue changes in her life.
Britney's loved ones are currently preparing a support plan to help her cope with the crisis.
Britney's history of struggling with addictions and psychological problems dates back to 2007.
The current relapse occurred several years after the singer was finally freed from her father's 13-year conservatorship in 2021.
