No illegal migrants recorded on the Lithuanian-Belarusian border yesterday, 136 people in Latvia

Lithuanian border guards did not record any illegal migrants on the border with Belarus in the past 24 hours, the Lithuanian State Border Guard Service reported on Saturday, writes LRT.

Latvian border guards turned back 136 foreigners on Friday, and Polish services also did not record any attempts of illegal border crossing on Thursday.

This year, 724 illegal migrants were not admitted to Lithuania. Last year, more than 1.6 thousand attempts to illegally enter the country from Belarus were recorded, and the year before last — 1002 attempts.

In total, since the beginning of the migration crisis provoked by Belarus in the summer of 2021, Lithuanian border guards have prevented more than 25 thousand foreigners from illegally entering the country.
