Fisherman near Minsk survived 10 kV electric shock

The incident occurred on the afternoon of May 11 near the village of Karalishchavichy.

A 59-year-old man was walking to the Svislach river with an unfolded fishing rod about seven meters long.

As he was passing under the power line, his fishing tackle approached "an impermissible distance from live parts," the Ministry of Energy reported.

As a result, the man sustained an electric injury, but remained alive. He refused medical assistance.
