The U.S. President stated that the President of Ukraine and the Russian dictator need to talk, and explained what prevents this from happening. Trump made this statement during his speech at the G7 summit, writes RBC-Ukraine.

The U.S. President noted that he had spoken with Volodymyr Zelenskyy and, by phone, with Vladimir Putin.

“It seems that both sides are losing a lot of soldiers there. Russia is losing more because they are attacking. When you are the aggressor in a war, on the offensive in a war, you lose more people,” Trump said.

He noted that during Sunday's conversation with the Russian dictator, he shared his information. The U.S. President also stated that conversations with the presidents of both countries were “very successful” and expressed confidence that they need to talk. “They need to talk, but they just don't know how to do it. They just don't know how to talk to each other,” Trump emphasized.

After settling the situation around Iran, Trump stated that Washington's next priority would be finding ways to end the Russian-Ukrainian war.

According to him, combat operations claim the lives of about 25,000 people monthly.

Zelenskyy and Trump also discussed the possibility of holding negotiations with the Russian dictator in the United States. It is expected that such a format could make it more difficult for the Kremlin leader to avoid direct dialogue.

At the same time, the German Foreign Ministry does not rule out that the negotiation process to end the war in Ukraine could begin as early as summer. Berlin believes that the war has effectively reached a stalemate, and Putin may be considering a diplomatic resolution.
