Lukashenka stated that an officer must defend the Motherland, not serve for an apartment and a kitchen
At a meeting with military personnel, the politician emphasized the importance of high-quality officer training, writes BelTA.
"Therefore, officers are issue number one," he said. "They must be trained properly. And if someone doesn't want to do that, then we are not on the same path with them."
Aliaksandr Lukashenka noted that the state has done a lot to ensure that the Armed Forces have all the conditions for such training of officer personnel. As well as for providing them with housing and proper living conditions.
"That's right. A lot (has been done by the state)," said Defense Minister Viktar Khrenin.
"And you constantly come to me and talk about the need to resolve logistical issues: apartments, wives, kitchens, children, and so on. I understand that this is necessary. But an officer must understand that all of us serve not only for the sake of having a kitchen. We have chosen such a profession — to defend the Motherland. And we will do this under various conditions," said Aliaksandr Lukashenka.
