Mikhail Fyodorov confirmed that the reason for his resignation is a conflict with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Syrskyi

According to Mikhail Fyodorov, Ukraine needs "cardinal personnel decisions," because without them it is impossible to defeat the enemy with fewer losses.

Fyodorov also confirmed the existence of a conflict with Oleksandr Syrskyi. He stated that the commander-in-chief allegedly blocked his initiatives and did not want to discuss problematic issues, but instead allegedly engaged in internal intrigues.

At the same time, Fyodorov noted that the decision not to dismiss Syrskyi belongs to the President of Ukraine as the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. He stated that he accepts this decision and will learn to work in the existing conditions, but emphasized that his team faced a complete blocking of proposed reforms.

"When the president said that he does not plan to change Syrskyi, I completely agreed with this decision and said that it means I will learn to work with him. Because our client is the entire Ukrainian people.

But we faced the fact that all the initiatives we proposed began to be blocked. And Syrskyi is not ready to personally speak face-to-face about problems. He is ready to personally go to meetings, weave intrigues, think that someone ordered some campaign in the media, and not that the problem lies in the actions that are happening. This led to the fact that, in fact, he delivered an ultimatum.

Instead of figuring out how to assymmetrically defeat Russia, he figured out how to split the country. And therein lies a big problem…

I did not set conditions, "either me or Syrskyi." I said that it means we will defeat Russia with such a commander-in-chief."

At the same time, Fyodorov emphasized that Syrskyi should not be underestimated as a military commander. He reminded that in 2022, Syrskyi played a significant role in the defense of Ukraine, including in the battles for Kyiv and Kharkiv, as well as during the liberation of Kherson. However, according to Fyodorov, after that, the nature of the war changed significantly and requires different approaches.

"But the war has completely changed, completely. Drones change 4 times a year. The control system has changed, and we must change. We cannot rely on what was then. We need to understand what needed to be done then and what is needed now to defeat Russia.

I don't think this is an ego problem. I think there are other reasons… Many documents are not signed. I openly talked about this: bureaucratically, we know how to play, let's do it. They told me: "Don't touch it!", and I endured and was ready to work calmly until the commander-in-chief delivered an ultimatum."

Earlier, Ukrainian and foreign media already reported on the tension between Fyodorov and Syrskyi. And after reports of Fyodorov's resignation, rallies in his support took place in several Ukrainian cities.
