Celine Dion returned to the stage in Paris with her first full concert in six years.

The Canadian singer couldn't hold back tears as she stepped onto the stage on September 12 in front of 30,000 fans at the Plenitude Arena in Nanterre, writes Euronews.

"The path has been thorny, the journey took longer than expected," she said to thunderous applause. "But I was drawn by a faint ray of light in the distance, high in the mountains. Tonight I want to sing for you. Sing for myself. Sing for life."

Dion then performed a number of her most famous and iconic hits, including "My Heart Will Go On" and "Because You Loved Me."

The concert was reportedly attended by former US First Lady Michelle Obama and a number of French politicians, including Gabriel Attal and Édouard Philippe.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney congratulated Dion on what he called an "incredible return to the stage after six long years."

The singer now has 26 concerts scheduled in France.

In December 2022, Dion announced that she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome — a rare autoimmune neurological disorder that can cause muscle stiffness and spasms.

This incurable disease forced the singer to cancel concerts for 6 years, leading many to doubt whether she would ever be able to return to the stage.

Dion last performed a full concert in 2020 as part of her Courage Tour.
