Minister of Industry Andrei Kuznetsov launched the pilot operation of a road train consisting of the innovative MAZ-545001 tractor unit (also known as MAZ-X) and an isothermal semi-trailer "Kupava", writes abw.by.
The new road train will be used for the internal logistics of the Minsk Automobile Plant, as well as for transporting goods between enterprises of the "BelavtoMAZ" holding.
According to the minister, the appearance of such equipment on the capital's roads will clearly demonstrate the capabilities of Belarusian industry.
"With its movement on the capital's roads, residents will be able to clearly see that Belarusian industry and the Republic of Belarus are keeping pace with the times, demonstrating a high level of engineering thought and the ability to implement relevant solutions," noted Andrei Kuznetsov.
The MAZ-545001 will operate on real routes, transporting goods both for MAZ itself and between "BelavtoMAZ" enterprises throughout the country.
The Minsk Automobile Plant presented the hybrid tractor unit MAZ-X (another name MAZ-545000) in 2024. Later it underwent some improvements and was named MAZ-545001.
