How much time was left for political prisoners released on September 16? Some of them had eight more years

After each mass release of political prisoners, readers of "Nasha Niva" ask in comments to calculate how much time was left on the sentence for this or that person.
People have a hypothesis that mostly those who could have been home soon anyway are released. In some batches of released political prisoners, there were indeed many such individuals, but not in this case.
Let us immediately clarify that we are writing the approximate time of release according to the sentence. It depends on whether the political prisoner appealed the verdict and when the appeal was heard. This information is not always available to human rights activists. In addition, sometimes after detention, a person is sent for 15 days of administrative arrest (sometimes more than once), and these served days are not counted towards the completed sentence.
Relatively soon — in almost three months — former BelaPAN director Dzmitry Navazhylau was due to be released.
By the way, an unfortunate mix-up occurred with him — Navazhylau was on the release lists as early as March 2026, but then instead of him, another political prisoner with a similar surname, Uladzislau Navazhantsau, was released.
Two more people from this group could have been released in 2027, and four people in 2028.
Andrei Aliaksandrau and Pavel Bielavus would have had to spend the most time behind bars — until 2034.
