In the Rahachow district, six cows died after escaping from the farm at night. The incident, which occurred on May 11, was reported by the prosecutor's office of the Gomel region.
At night, the animals damaged a metal partition in the barn, then broke the rope holding the broken half of the gate, and finally broke down another door and got out onto the farm premises. In the morning, veterinarians found the cows dead. Remains of phosphorus fertilizers were found near them.
It was found that nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers were stored on the farm in violation of regulations during spring. After the main part of the fertilizers was moved, their remnants were not properly cleaned up — they remained on the ground and grass. Thus, the animals gained access to hazardous substances.
The prosecutor's office noted that the executive director, watchman, and zootechnician improperly performed their official duties.
A lawsuit was filed in the interests of the agricultural enterprise. The court granted it and ordered the recovery of over 24.6 thousand rubles from two culpable employees of the agricultural enterprise and the managing organization. The court decision has already come into legal force.
