Iran's Supreme Leader Published Old Photos Under Guise of New Pro-Government Rallies
Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei published an image on the social network X showing allegedly massive support for the regime in Tehran, accompanying it with the date January 12, 2026. The picture shows thousands of people with flags of the Islamic Republic.

In fact, these photos were taken on January 5, 2020, during the funeral of General Qasem Soleimani of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, writes Bild.
He was killed on January 3, 2020, in a U.S. strike. Footage from the mourning ceremony was then widely circulated by world media.
Khamenei published old photographs under the guise of current ones amidst large-scale protests in Iran, which have swept through almost all major cities of the country.
