Drybin District — the smallest in Belarus — will grow by 100 square kilometers
At the expense of Mogilev, Shklov, and Horki districts.

The area of Drybin District will increase by approximately 100 square kilometers (10 thousand hectares) after expansion by incorporating territories of neighboring districts. This was stated by the head of Mogilev region, Anatol Isachenka, writes BelTA.
“Today, we have three agricultural enterprises in Drybin District. As a result of reorganization, there will be six. The district's area will increase by approximately 10 thousand hectares. This will be an average district of the Mogilev region,” said Anatol Isachenka.
The expansion is planned at the expense of lands from Mogilev, Shklov, and Horki districts. However, the approach involves not just expanding the territory, but also transferring existing enterprises.
Drybin District is the smallest in Belarus; its area is only 767 square kilometers, with a population of 8922 people. There are only four village councils here.
Drybin District was founded in 1924 as part of the Orsha District and was abolished twice: in 1931 and 1959. In 1959, its territory was divided among Shklov, Horki, Chausy, and Mstislavl districts. It was restored in 1959. 2877 people live in Drybin itself.
