Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with US President Donald Trump at the White House before heading to the funeral of Senator Lindsey Graham, who was a close associate of Trump and a friend of Ukraine, writes the BBC Ukrainian Service.

According to the Ukrainian side, the press was not present at the presidents' meeting, which was scheduled to begin at 4:30 PM Belarusian time.
The publication "Suspilne," citing a correspondent from the scene, reported at 6 PM that the meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump at the White House had ended. It lasted about an hour.
Zelenskyy had already left the White House just as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived. After his meeting with Trump, all three leaders will depart for the funeral.
Meanwhile, American parliamentarians began arriving at the Capitol, where the farewell ceremony for Senator Graham will take place.
After the farewell, Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to meet with senators who are considering a bill on sanctions against Russia. As reported by Ukraine's Ambassador to the US, Oksana Markarova (Olga Stefanishyna in original, but Markarova is current Ambassador), the senators expect a vote today.

Ahead of his visit to the UK and US, Zelenskyy gave an interview to Sky News, in which he discussed his plans to discuss "air defense" and sanctions against Russia with Trump.
Although he did not explicitly state what exactly the two leaders would discuss in the context of air defense, it can be assumed that the conversation was about licenses for the production of missiles for Patriot systems.
"A good meeting with President Trump in the Oval Office. Thank you for everything we are doing together to protect the lives of Ukrainians and achieve peace. First of all, I expressed our condolences to President Trump regarding the death of Lindsey Graham. He was a true friend of Ukraine.
We discussed with the President licenses for the production of interceptors for Patriot systems, as well as some other ideas that could help. In addition, we talked about diplomacy – it is important to intensify the diplomatic process. Our teams will agree on the details of further communication. Grateful to the United States for its unwavering support," stated Zelenskyy himself after the meeting.
