"I could. I could. I'm thinking about it. I was one step away from the presidency for four years. I know what that job is. And I know what it requires," Harris stated.
Kamala Harris already has experience participating in a presidential race. In 2024, she was the Democratic Party candidate, but Donald Trump won the election, beginning his second presidential term in 2025. Even earlier, in 2019, she also tried to become a Democratic candidate but withdrew her candidacy during the election campaign.
Since 2021, Harris served as Vice President in Joe Biden's administration. In this role, she was one of the key figures in American politics, dealing with both domestic and foreign issues.
Harris had previously hinted at her possible participation in the next elections. In late 2025, in an interview with the BBC, she said: "I'm not finished yet." Since then, she has released an autobiographical book about her campaign, conducted a book tour, and this month is speaking at Democratic Party events in four southern states, CNN reports.
