It became known about the release of political prisoner and fan Tamaz Pipia

The football fan received five years for protests after Lukashenka's secret inauguration, and another year and a half was added to his sentence in the colony.

Tamaz Pipia

31-year-old Tamaz Pipia has been released. He was sentenced to 5 years in a reinforced regime colony for participation in mass riots (Part 2 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code), and while already in captivity, another 1.5 years were added for "malicious disobedience to the colony administration" (Article 411 of the Criminal Code).

Tamaz Pipia is a football fan of the former Minsk club "MTZ-RIPA". He was detained on September 26, 2020, in Grodno on suspicion of participating in the protests on September 23.

Tamaz was not alone in the case: his brother Timur Pipia also became a political prisoner.

On July 2, 2021, the Moscow District Court of Minsk sentenced Tamaz Pipia to 5 years in a reinforced regime colony. The case was heard by Judge Sviatlana Bandarenka.

As is often the case with political prisoners, Pipia's term did not end there.

On September 5, 2024, a new criminal case under Article 411 of the Criminal Code was heard in the Novopolotsk court. Judge Tatsiana Khrypach added another 1.5 years to Tamaz Pipia's colony sentence.
