Minsk begins construction of the third section of the third metro line
The 'Maria' shield began work on laying a new tunnel section of the green branch of the Minsk metro, BelTA writes.
The complex started moving from the future 'Park Druzhby Narodov' (People's Friendship Park) station to 'Kamarouskaya' in the southern direction, then will head to 'Perespa' and will complete its journey at 'Yubileynaya Ploshchad' (Jubilee Square).
It was also previously reported that the 'Alesya' complex is preparing to dive under the Svislach River to allow work to be carried out under the riverbed.
Despite the fact that the third line bears the name 'Zialionaluzhskaya', it will not go to Zialiony Luh (Green Meadow).
The first section of the third line was commissioned in November 2020. Then trains started running from 'Yubileynaya Ploshchad' station to 'Kavalskaya Slabada', also including 'Ploshcha Frantsishka Bahushevicha' and 'Vakzalnaya' stations.
At the end of 2024, three stations opened in the southern direction: 'Aerodromnaya', 'Niamoršanski Sad' and 'Slutski Hascinets'.
