Phone scammers forced a 19-year-old Minsk resident to undress in front of the camera
The girl received a call from someone posing as a flower delivery service, who then obtained a code from an SMS, supposedly to confirm the service.
Then a fake law enforcement officer accused her of disseminating secret information and threatened her with punishment for complicity in terrorism. To rectify the situation, she had to cooperate, writes "Minsk Police".
First, she was forced to declare her savings: the girl photographed her 100 rubles and wrote two statements - supposedly for the National Bank and about prohibiting the processing of personal data. The Minsk resident was required to be constantly in contact and forbidden to turn off her phone even at night.
Later, the girl was ordered to buy the latest model iPhone in installments. In the store, she provided her mother's phone number for contact, and when her mother received an SMS about the credit application, the Minsk resident lied, saying it was a mistake, and convinced her not to do anything.
After this task was canceled, the curator gave the girl a new one: they demanded video confirmation of voluntary cooperation - she had to undress in front of the camera to show the absence of bruises.
The scammers continued to assure her that the Minsk resident's accounts were hacked and being used to fund prohibited organizations. Under threat of punishment, she opened two new SIM cards and picked up a bundle of money from under someone else's balcony, after which she handed it over to the next courier.
A few days later, she collected money from an eight-year-old child and tried to send it to the scammers via an ATM, but it broke down, retaining about 7,000 rubles.
The child's parents contacted the police - the girl was detained. She was explained that she acted according to the scammers' instructions and must return the remaining 4,000 rubles.
