Fewer Belarusians with residence permits in Lithuania, but the outflow is smaller than a year ago
According to data from the Migration Department under the Ministry of Interior of Lithuania, as of early September, the country had 47,872 Belarusians with all types of residence permits, writes Devby.io.
In a month, 411 Belarusians with residence permits left Lithuania. And over the last 12 months – 3,648 Belarusians.
Over the last year, their number has been decreasing by approximately one thousand each quarter. But the pace seems to have slowed down.
From January to August, the number of Belarusians with residence permits in Lithuania decreased by 2,414. For comparison, during the first eight months of 2025, the decrease amounted to 5,991 people.
The largest number of Belarusians with residence permits in Lithuania was recorded by April 1, 2024 — at that time the figure reached 62,844 people. Since then, it has been declining.
Despite this, Belarusians remain the second-largest group of foreigners with residence permits in Lithuania, after Ukrainians, whose numbers, on the contrary, have slightly increased.
