All production lines of Finnish company are to be moved to Asia.
The last Made-in-Finland Nokia phone was assembled in Salla, Finland where Nokia’s last active production is situated. Nokia administration confirmed its restructurization strategy which implies factory’s closedown and moving production to Asian countries, onliner.by reports.
The full stop of the plant in Salla is scheduled to September, 2012. 780 employees are to be laid off. Nokia worked out a ‘rescue plan’ for its employees helping them to find a new job and also providing them with dismissal wage.
Nokia plans to dismiss around 3,700 employees in Finland and 6,000 worldwide thus sparing $2bln by the end of the year.
