Belarus offers India buying big Belarusian potash fertilisers manufacturer Hrodna Azot, Belarus 1 says.
This offer was voiced at the opening of the Belarusian–Indian Business Forum in New Delhi on November 14. Indian President and Belarusian PM Uladzimir Miasnikovich attended the opening ceremony.
Hrodna Azot uses Russian gas for fertilisers production and also is one of biggest Russian gas consumers in Belarus. Some considered possible the acquisition of Hrodna Azot by Russia’s Gazprom which earlier took over Belarusian gas company Beltransgaz.
In 2010, India was already offered to buy Belarusian potash giant Belaruskali, and the country considered the prospects as India and China import most of Belarusian potash.
Miasnikovich also lured India into the deal offering the lowest corporate income tax in Europe — 18 per cent.
He also offered to invest in Belarusian oil and chemistry, machine building, cotton factory in Baranavichy.
In response, Belarus is ready to arrange joint assembly line of Belarusian machines in Asia.
