Belarusian rifle shooter Siarhiej Martynau wins gold at men’s 50m rifle prone at final, August 3.
At qualification, Siarhiej scored 600 points out of 600 becoming the second athlete who managed to do this in Olympic history. He also set a new Olympic record scoring total 705.5 (the previous one set by Christian Klees from Germany was 704.8).
London Olympics became the sixth in a row. He has already been bronze winner in 2000 and 2004 and also the world’s champion in 2006 and 2010. The first Olympics Mr. Martynau participated in was Seoul Olympics 1988.
Lionel Cox, Belgium, won silver and Rajmond Debevec, Slovania, took bronze.
