World No. 1 female tennis player Viktoryja Azaranka beat Sabine Lisicki of Germany in straight sets 6-4, 6-2 in the second round of the China Open in Beijing.
Azaranka will go on to face Elena Vesnina in the third round. They played two times previously in 2007 and 2009 with Azaranka winning both the matches in straight sets.
In the women’s doubles Belarusian Olga Govortsova and Romania’s Monica Niculescu lost to China-Slovakia tandem Peng Shuai and Daniela Hantuchova 3-6, 2-6.
In the men’s doubles the second-seeded Max Mirnyi of Belarus and Daniel Nestor of Canada will play the French duo Julien Benneteau and Richard Gasquet.
The tournament in Beijing finishes on 7 October.
