The driver who crashed his Mercedes into a bus stop in Minsk last week has been formally charged with violation of traffic rules resulting in manslaughter, BelaPAN informs.
The crash happened after the 39-year-old man lost control of the automobile in the Shabany neighborhood on the evening of November 2.
One of the four people injured in the accident, a 48-year-old woman, died in the hospital the following day. The other three people were hospitalized.
The driver has been held in custody since the accident. He was convicted of criminal offenses four times in the past.
After the collision, the driver said he was driving at the speed of 40–45 km/h, not faster.
However, now it seems doubtful as Minsk police says the driver was tried four times and fined many times for violations of traffic rules.
