The Ministry of Emergency Situations received Lithuania's response regarding the incident at the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus has received an official response from the Lithuanian side to a request regarding the incident that occurred on the territory of the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant, reports the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

According to the report, a fire broke out at the INPP in the air filtration unit of a shot blasting installation, which is part of the primary radioactive waste processing complex.
The Lithuanian side assured that the fire was quickly extinguished and there were no casualties, and there was no release of radioactive materials.
According to the International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale (INES) of the IAEA, the event is classified as «below scale.»
The response also indicated that Lithuania did not need external assistance to deal with the consequences.
The fire occurred on November 25 in the primary radioactive waste processing complex. According to official reports from the Lithuanian side, the incident did not result in any radiation damage to the environment or the population, nor were there any casualties among the staff.
