Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya has a new advisor on environmental issues

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya has appointed Dzmitry Kuchuk, the former leader of the 'Greens' party and a former political prisoner, as an advisor on environmental issues, the politician's press service reports. 

Dzmitry Kuchuk is the chairman of the 'Greens' party, liquidated by the authorities, and a former political prisoner (released on September 11, 2025, as a result of negotiations with the USA). 

His tasks will include: developing the Office's positions on environmental issues, developing cooperation with Belarusian and international green organizations, coordinating events for the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster, including the Chernobyl Way. Dzmitry Kuchuk will also participate in preparing reforms and legislative initiatives for a new Belarus. He will work on an out-of-staff basis, the press service reports. 

Dzmitry Kuchuk thanked for the trust and appointment: 'Let's work together for an ecological new Belarus,' he said.
