«People continue to book». What's happening with tours through Russia after the bus attack in Bryansk Oblast

«5% cancel».

Following the incident involving a UAV strike on a bus with Rechytsa schoolchildren in Bryansk Oblast, Belarusian tour firms have started changing routes through Russia.

Director of «Slavia Tour» Dmitry Milovanov announced on social media that all tour routes to Georgia and back will now bypass Bryansk region: buses will travel through Smolensk and Tula oblasts, writes Onliner.by.

— After this, [buses] enter Voronezh, then the M4 highway, and proceed along it to Verkhny Lars. This extends the journey by an average of 4-5 hours, but passenger safety is paramount, so we will travel this way for now, — commented the carrier.

The company «Anita Bai» also announced route changes.

The tour firm also transported Belarusians to Georgia, Adygea, Dagestan, and Dombay through Smolensk and Tula oblasts.

Anna Slazhanikina, deputy director of «Anita Bai», shared details with Onliner:

— We analyzed the logistics of the new route and chose the optimal bypass option. The road within Belarus has been optimized not to create additional time burden for tourists starting their journey from Minsk or earlier. The Russian section is laid out to bypass Bryansk Oblast.

The first bus departed on the new route yesterday: the actual increase in travel time to the first overnight stay at the hotel was two hours.

For tourists departing from Gomel, options for joining the group without additional costs on their part have been developed.

The company received a significant number of inquiries from clients planning summer vacations; all requests are being processed in due course. Meanwhile, the proportion of cancelled planned trips remains low.

A similar route for trips to Georgia, Gelendzhik, and the Caucasus regions was chosen by the tour operator «Spióka Travel». Company representatives also shared information on the number of tour cancellations in one of the thematic threads on Threads:

— 5% are cancelling. And at the same time, people continue to book.
