Money collected for the repatriation of operator Dzianis Sakalouski's body to Belarus
The former political prisoner died a few days ago in Berlin at the age of 47.

Following his death, Dzianis's family began resolving legal issues, including the transportation of his body to Belarus, and organizing the farewell and funeral.
The fundraising goal was stated as €4600.
This included:
- €800 — document processing and legal services
- €2800 — repatriation of the body from Germany to Belarus
- €1000 — funeral and farewell
"My dad was an incredible person, he loved this life very much, he loved people. He had a big open heart, he was emotional, creative, and did a lot for the world, for journalism and art. He was the best dad, he loved me endlessly, as did I him. Now I feel immense pain and miss him very much, very much. I can't believe I won't be able to hug him again, won't see him, won't be able to talk to him. This is a great tragedy for our entire family and the most difficult ordeal that has fallen to our lot in forced emigration. And we truly need support and help," said Dzianis's daughter, journalist Vasilina Sakalouskaya.
In August 2020, Dzianis Sakalouski joined the strike at BT and actively participated in it. He was detained in the "Press Club" case and spent eight months in pre-trial detention. Upon release, he left Belarus.
The fundraiser was announced last week, and as of 4:00 PM, €4614 had been collected.
