A huge cyber-SUV that can turn like a tank was spotted in Minsk

On the streets of Minsk, a rare guest was photographed — a massive hybrid SUV Deepal G318 in a vibrant bright yellow color. Photos of the unusual car on Staravilenskaya Street were shared by the capital's Telegram channel «Minsk i minchanin». The brutal silhouette of the car immediately drew the attention of passers-by, writes Blizko.by.

Deepal (also known as Shenlan) is a premium sub-brand of the renowned Chinese concern Changan, created specifically for the production of technological SUVs. The design of the G318 model is executed in a futuristic "cybermetal" style: angular shapes, powerful protective body kit, C-shaped diode optics, and factory roof spotlights. The car looks as if it escaped from the set of a film about the colonization of Mars.

Essentially, this hybrid is a series hybrid (EREV). The wheels are driven exclusively by powerful electric motors, and the 1.5-liter gasoline engine under the hood is not connected to the transmission and works as a generator, recharging the battery simply while driving.

Key features of the Chinese «spaceship»:

Huge dimensions: the car's length exceeds 5 meters, and the ground clearance is an impressive 240 mm — curbs and light off-roading are definitely not a problem for it.

Insane range: thanks to the smart hybrid system, with a full tank and a full charge, the crossover can travel from 1000 to 1200 kilometers. Purely on electricity (for example, for daily trips around Minsk from home to office), the range is sufficient for 138–186 km.

Hurricane dynamics: in the all-wheel-drive version, the power reaches 430 hp, and the heavy machine accelerates to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds.

Tank technologies: in top trim levels, the car can perform a "tank turn" (turning almost on the spot by locking the wheels), is equipped with adaptive air suspension and a giant 14.6-inch multimedia screen. And you can also power an entire tent camp in nature from it — the outlet provides a full 220V.

Such cars are still rare in Belarus and not officially sold. However, metropolitan car dealers actively import the model on order from China. Prices on classified ad boards for brand new cars start at approximately 104,500 Belarusian rubles (about 32,000 dollars equivalent), which makes it a strong competitor for familiar three-year-old European cars.
