Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw to be lit up in white-red-white colors on August 9
On August 9, on the sixth anniversary of the start of mass protests after the falsified presidential elections in Belarus in 2020, the facade of the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw will be illuminated in white-red-white colors, reported the press service of the United Transitional Cabinet of Belarus.
This decision was made by the President of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, in response to an appeal from Pavel Latushka, Deputy Head of the United Transitional Cabinet and Head of the National Anti-Crisis Management.
According to the city hall's announcement, the illumination will operate on August 9 from 18:00 to 24:00.
Pavel Latushka thanked the city authorities for this symbolic gesture, noting that it demonstrates Warsaw and Poland's unwavering support for the Belarusian people.
He also expressed gratitude to Poland for the assistance provided to Belarusians over the past six years and expressed hope that the country will continue to be a reliable partner in supporting democratic changes in Belarus.
On the same day, a traditional rally dedicated to the sixth anniversary of the 2020 events will take place in the center of Warsaw. It will start at 18:00 near the Nicolaus Copernicus Monument.
The organizers invite Belarusians and friends of Belarus to join the event as a sign of solidarity with the ideas of freedom, truth, and democracy.
