According to the CNN source, Tehran is receiving advanced tactical techniques from Moscow, which were previously used in the war against Ukraine.
It was previously reported that Russia was providing Iran with intelligence information about potential targets. However, consultations on strike tactics are considered a new level of support. This is causing increasing concern among Western countries. The CNN source did not disclose other details of this assistance.
There was information that Russia allegedly provided Iran with data on the location of American military facilities, including ships and aircraft. Steve Witkoff, Donald Trump's special envoy to the Middle East, stated, however, that Vladimir Putin denied transferring such information to Iran during a conversation with the American president. According to him, Putin's aide Yuri Ushakov claimed the same.
Amid these events, Ukraine sent interceptor drones and a group of UAV specialists to Jordan to protect American military bases. According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the US requested such assistance on March 5, after which the Ukrainian team was promptly dispatched to the region.
