In Gomel, a sexual crime from ten years ago was solved. Investigators managed to restore passwords on devices
A resident of Gomel committed violent acts of a sexual nature against a minor over 10 years ago.

During the preliminary investigation, a search was conducted at the suspect's home, during which computer equipment was seized. Initial analysis of the equipment yielded no results: no information directly indicating the man's involvement in the crime was found. However, the work of investigators and experts put an end to this case, reports the State Forensic Examination Committee.
The seized equipment was sent to the Gomel regional department of the State Forensic Examination Committee. Specialists examined the system unit, mobile phone, and tablet.
Forensic experts discovered archived files in the storage of the system unit and tablet. Access to them was securely protected. The accused categorically refused to provide passwords. However, the experts coped with the task and were able to open the files stored on the system unit and tablet.
Upon their detailed examination, investigators obtained irrefutable evidence of the crime.
