Mazyr human rights activist Telyapun accused under two political articles
Human rights activist Uladzimir Telyapun from Mazyr was charged with "aiding extremist activities" (Art. 361-4) and "slandering Lukashenka" (Art. 167), "Homel Viasna" learned .

Uladzimir Telyapun is known in the region for his human rights activities, including the right to peaceful assembly. In 1986, he participated in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl NPP accident. He has health problems. Telyapun had been repeatedly detained under administrative articles before, most recently reported in January 2025.
This time, Telyapun was detained around mid-April, after which he did not return home. It was later revealed that he is being held in a pre-trial detention center in Homel.
On April 30, Belarusian human rights activists recognized him as a political prisoner.
