The "Eurovision" final took place on May 16 in Vienna. Bulgaria took first place. This is the country's first victory in the history of the contest.
Singer Dara performed the dance song Bangaranga. Bulgaria received 516 points from the jury and viewers.
Dara became famous in her homeland after participating in the Bulgarian X Factor. Her Eurovision song is about a strong heroine who challenges the rules. From Jamaican language, the title of the track translates to "rebellion".
The Top 5 according to the voting results are as follows:
- Bulgaria — 516 points
- Israel — 343 points
- Romania — 296 points
- Australia — 287 points
- Italy — 281 points
Bookmakers predicted first place for Finland — it eventually took sixth place with 279 points.
Ukraine took 9th place in the contest. Poland came 12th, and our other neighbor Lithuania also reached the final and finished 22nd there.
