Authors of the million-hit "August" Intelligency are preparing their debut Belarusian-language album
The band Intelligency is finalizing a new album. It will not only be their first full-length album in four years, but also their first Belarusian-language album in their discography.
“We have been writing music for 12 years, tried to play it in many cities around the world, but never thought about our creativity being needed here [in Belarus] first and foremost. That’s why we decided to record a big album in Belarusian,” the musicians shared.
“12 years of writing music to finally come to ourselves. We have the hit ‘August’, we have other million-selling songs, but what is it all worth in our time? Our next album is special, in Belarusian, for our people and simply for all good people. Let there be a celebration of music.”
At the moment, only the track titles of the upcoming record are known — "Мінск" (Minsk), "Камяні" (Stones), "Таямніца" (Secret), "Мара" (Dream), "Каханне" (Love). Also, some snippets from the tracks have been released. Here, for example, are a few such pieces.
The authors promise many Easter eggs in the lyrics and purely Belarusian expressions such as "кінь дурное" (stop being silly/foolish).
Additionally, the musicians have already presented a music video for the song "Таямніца" (Secret), in which they, along with actors, stomp through mud, dancing in a Belarusian field, and then eat kholodnik (cold beetroot soup), cucumbers, draniki (potato pancakes), and baked potatoes with milk. All of this is filmed in a very rave-like vibe.
“Someone might say: why [the Belarusian] language, if it will limit the circle of listeners? All this is foolishness – it comes from deep misunderstanding and spiritual blindness. Albums and concepts never get old; and the national is never momentary, but eternal, expanding your consciousness and spirit like never before. And where the spirit is strengthened and there is an idea – there is also strength,” the artists are confident.
The specific release date of Intelligency's Belarusian album is not yet known.
