Lithuanian Minister of Transport: No Pressure from the US Regarding Belarusian Potash Transit
Lithuanian Minister of Transport Juras Taminskas stated that he himself feels no pressure from the US regarding the resumption of transit of Belarusian potash fertilizers through Lithuanian territory. According to him, he has not received any official letters, calls, or other communications on this matter, writes Delfi.lt.

The Lithuanian minister's statement came amid reports from foreign media that American officials had allegedly proposed that Lithuania, Poland, and Ukraine consider lifting restrictions on the transit of Belarusian fertilizers.
Juras Taminskas noted that there is no point in discussing the resumption of transit now, as European Union sanctions remain in effect at least until February next year. In his opinion, discussions on this topic are currently purely theoretical.
Earlier, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys spoke of increased US interest in the issue of Belarusian fertilizer supplies. In turn, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda stated that the Lithuanian side exchanges views with American partners regarding relations with Belarus but feels no pressure on the issue of resuming transit.
Interest in the topic of Belarusian potash transit arose after the administration of US President Donald Trump lifted part of the financial restrictions on the Belaruskali company in March. As a result, some American companies began to explore opportunities for purchasing and transporting Belarusian products.
