"Too much of an outsider". Leanid Sudalenka was told why he won't be informed about the reasons for his TikTok page being declared "extremist"
Human rights activist and former political prisoner Leanid Sudalenka posted a copy of a letter he received from the Maladzyechna District Court in response to his request for a copy of the court decision regarding his personal TikTok page being declared "extremist". It turns out that, according to the court's interpretation, the owner of such a page does not qualify as a person entitled to receive such a copy.

"The court's argument is excellent in its simplicity:
I cannot receive a copy of the decision because "I did not participate in the case".
That is:
- my page can be declared "extremist";
- my rights can be restricted;
- a risk of administrative and criminal liability can be created;
- reputational damage can be inflicted;
...but to find out on what grounds this was done — is not allowed?!
Moreover, I was not even notified about the consideration of the case.
The court considered an issue directly affecting my rights:
- without my participation;
- without the possibility to present my objections;
- without adversarial proceedings;
- and now also without access to the decision itself.
A very convenient model of justice:
first, we declare you an "extremist", and then we explain that you are too much of an outsider to read the decision about yourself," Leanid Sudalenka writes.
