In the Lepel District, a Man Hunted a Wolf, and This Marked the Beginning of Troubles
In the Lepel district, a 37-year-old man came under investigation after a wolf carcass with a gunshot wound was found in his car, the Investigative Committee reports .

The incident occurred on April 6, 2026, during a raid by employees of the Inspectorate for the Protection of the Animal and Plant World. They stopped a Volkswagen car, driven by a local resident. During the inspection, a wolf carcass was found in the car.
Initially, an administrative process was initiated against the man, but he attempted to flee. According to the investigation, he got into his car, drove towards the inspectors, ran over one of them, and left the scene. He was later apprehended with the support of traffic police officers.
After his detention, the man also allegedly threatened a representative of the inspectorate. As a result, he was charged with using violence and threatening violence against an official while performing their official duties.
The accused will remain in custody until the trial. His property has been seized. It is reported that he had previously been convicted of theft.
A separate investigation is being conducted into the illegal hunting of the wolf.
