The Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life will host the Midsummer Solstice Festival
Saturday, June 20.
The Midsummer Solstice Festival «Kupalle in Azyartsa» will take place at the Belarusian State Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life.
«Kupalle is an ancient summer festival in honor of the sun, the highest flourishing of the earth and nature.
On the mysterious Kupalle night, the entire village community gathered by the bonfire to burn old things, perform round dances, and have joyful festivities. And everyone dreamed of finding the fern flower and gaining all the knowledge of the earth…», — the Telegram channel «Culture and Art» reports.
Guests can expect:
- wreath weaving;
- Kupalle procession with traditional songs;
- bonfire: round dances, games, dances;
- master classes on learning Kupalle songs, traditional dances accompanied by Belarusian folk instruments, and on decorations and grass dolls;
- performances by folklore groups,
