Another alarming signal came from the village of Lyaskovichy, Shumilino district, in the Vitebsk region.

One of the dachniks, named Aliaksei, encountered a brown bear during his morning run, and the bear was clearly interested in him. What the intentions of the club-footed animal were, one can only guess, but the beast began to pursue the man, writes Fishihgby.com.
Fortunately, the bear was scared away by a passing car. The driver, seeing the scene unfolding before him, started honking, and this frightened the predator — it retreated and hid in the forest.
If not for that car, Aliaksei's run could have ended very sadly.
Specialists from the National Academy of Sciences believe that over 70% of the Belarusian brown bear population is concentrated in the Vitebsk region, so the number of accidental encounters between local residents and this predator will only increase in the near future.
