Major General Plakhatnyuk, who died at General Chaiko's birthday, buried in Moscow
The funeral ceremony for Major General Valery Plakhatnyuk took place on August 5 at the Troyekurovskoye Cemetery in Moscow. This was initially reported by the Telegram channel "VCHK-OGPU", according to which the serviceman died on August 1 during an explosion at the Balzi Rossi restaurant in Moscow.

The publication "Mediazona" checked the information through state registers and confirmed the fact of Plakhatnyuk's death on August 1.
In 2011, Valery Plakhatnyuk was appointed head of the Operational Group of Russian Troops in Transnistria. Later, in 2021, already in the position of Chief of Staff of the 49th Combined Arms Army, he received the rank of Major General by decree of Vladimir Putin.
At the same time, the publication "Verstka" refutes the information about the death of General Igor Yerusalimov in the explosion, which was reported by the "VCHK-OGPU" channel.
The explosion at the Balzi Rossi restaurant in Moscow occurred on the evening of August 1. Initially, it was reported that the cause could be a gas leak, but later the National Anti-Terrorist Committee of Russia stated that an explosive device, which a woman tried to carry in disguised as a gift, detonated in the restaurant.
As a result of the explosion, five people died, and at least 19 more were injured.
According to unofficial information, the possible target of the attack could have been General Alexander Chaiko himself, whom Ukrainian authorities accuse of involvement in war crimes in Bucha. His condition after the explosion is unknown. It is reported that during the incident, his son-in-law Daniil Peredry died, and his 25-year-old daughter Maria Chaiko may have been injured.
