Aliaksei Sanchuk – the legendary drummer of the 2020 protests – has been evacuated with his family, reported Andrei Stryzhak on his Telegram channel.
Aliaksei was a member of the group of drummers who kept the rhythm during the marches in 2020. The security forces decided he was one of the organizers and gave him six years. As of today, the term Aliaksei fully served is the longest for a political prisoner who has been released.
After returning home, Aliaksei was intended to be placed under preventive supervision – a regime almost as strict as "house arrest" (domashnyaya khimiya, literally 'home chemistry'). That is, a continuation of punishment. Therefore, the family contacted the evacuation team and was successfully taken to a safe country, Andrei Stryzhak reported, and suggested supporting this brave and resolute family in their new life – it's a matter of honor!
