Andrus Bezdar, released from pre-trial detention, shared an update on his case and what's next
Andrei Makowski (known as Andrus Bezdar), co-founder of the renowned architectural bureau ZROBIM architects, who was released from pre-trial detention , answered questions he was flooded with on social media.
According to law enforcement, the architectural bureau was accused of receiving "$6 million in undeclared profit" and paying salaries in envelopes.
As Andrus explains, the damage claimed against the company has been repaid as of now.
"We, of course, admitted our guilt, we repented. And I would generally advise everyone who wants to evade taxes, for example, to underpay somewhere, to earn more at the moment — believe me, this does not outweigh the risks and problems that may arise for you in the future," he said.
Regarding whether he plans to leave, Andrus said he made his choice a long time ago.
"I want to stay in Belarus. There are opportunities here to realize my potential and that of our company as a whole. I love this country, I want to grow and develop here," he said.
According to him, during the period he was in pre-trial detention, ZROBIM architects worked surprisingly productively: the company optimized, reduced its expenses, and essentially continued to grow and develop.
"We have created a lot of good architecture," he reported, promising to showcase much of it soon.
The persecution of ZROBIM architects' management and employees began in April 2026. At that time, law enforcement detained about 50 people, and the popular architectural bureau itself was accused of receiving "$6 million in undeclared profit" and paying salaries in envelopes. The total damage to the budget was estimated at over 5 million rubles.
Andrei Makowski himself remained in custody. Later, a message appeared on his account: "Greetings from pre-trial detention! Pay your taxes in full, guys."
In June 2026, an advertisement for the sale of an unfinished villa on the Thai island of Phuket in the elite Botanica Pru Jampa complex appeared on his social networks, and in July — a plot of land for a tourist complex on the shore of Vileyka.
On August 5, it became known that Andrus Bezdar had been released from pre-trial detention.
