Rally of Independent Trade Union Lasted for 5 Minutes
The Trade Union of Workers of Radio Electronic Industry, an independent Belarusian trade union, organised a protest rally in Minsk which, however, lasted for five minutes only.
The trade union members tried to hold rallies in different Belarusian towns, but the only one was authorused in Minsk in the park near the Banhalor Square. This place is usually used by authorities as the site for permitted rare independent opposition rallies as the park is usually a deserted place with few visitors.
As the demonstrators were banned to picket at the park entrance, they decided not to go deep inside the park as it was senseless.
