Black fur color in wolves is considered a genetic anomaly and the result of a mutation that once passed to wild animals from domestic dogs through hybridization. Such individuals are more common in North America than in Europe.
Hunters and scientists note that black wolves are less aggressive in the pack, more resilient, larger, and also more intelligent and cautious.
Wolf hunting in Belarus is permitted year-round.
