In Luninets district, a criminal who committed a theft in 2020 was identified by a drop of blood
Five years ago, the house of a 51-year-old woman was burgled. She doesn't live there permanently, so she only discovered the burglary several days later.

In December 2020, a crime scene inspection was carried out, during which evidence was collected — blood and fingerprints. As it turned out, to enter the house, the intruder broke a window and injured himself in the process. At that time, it was not possible to identify the person involved in the theft. However, as subsequent events showed, it was only a matter of time.
In September 2025, during a comparative study of previously obtained biological samples, genetic experts managed to establish a match with a resident of Luninets district born in 2005. This became the basis for reopening the preliminary investigation into the criminal case, reports the State Forensic Examination Committee.
Fingerprints also served as evidence of the young man's involvement in the theft. Incidentally, at the time of the crime, he was 15 years old. In October of this year, fingerprints and palm prints were taken from the suspect. During the dactyloscopic examination, specialists established that the fingerprint seized in 2020 during the inspection of the theft scene matched the suspect's print.
Thanks to advanced technologies, process automation, the use of modern equipment in maintaining forensic and genotypical records, as well as the joint work of law enforcement agencies, crimes from past years are successfully solved.
